Solo VR · Unreal Engine 4.13

A Capital Crime

You arrive at a murder scene. The house belongs to Senator Timothy Morgan and his wife is dead. Read the room, listen, and work out whether this was domestic — or something with more powerful motives behind it.

The problem

Everything before this had been VR tests in 4.12, before Unreal shipped its own VR tools and blueprints. 4.13 made a real project possible — but solo, which meant every broken blueprint, texture, or model was mine to fix before anything else could move.

What I did

Designed the investigation so the level teaches you to look and listen: letters, papers, and dialogue steer you toward a conspiracy, and deliberately not every object or line is relevant. The senator was making a play for power while righting wrongs; the people already holding it stepped in. Modelled, textured, and blueprinted the whole thing myself.

Outcome

The hardest project I have shipped, and the one that proved I could adapt on the fly when the tooling broke. It existed to prepare me for the studio class that followed — and it did.
